The MLB returned for a shortened season this August. While this brought baseball back for some, many minor leaguers were left without a season.

For some players, the draft will bring elation. For most, it will be anxiety-ridden and anguishing. And yet, potential draftees need to know that they have more options than they may appreciate.

Players know deep-down that they’re waiting for an “Opening Day” that may never come – at least not this season. The good news — if there is any at all — is that this crisis will end at some point. And when it does, we’ll be there cheering.

If you get drafted this week, you have in your possession a lottery ticket. Not everyone’s ticket will get cashed, but everyone has a jersey and a dream.

Most players don’t realize how much more competitive professional baseball is than their previous experiences in the sport. But what really matters is how you carry yourself through the ups and downs of professional baseball.

I wish I would've known that having an advisor (i.e., agent) represent you for the draft can be incredibly valuable. They can help you get more looks from scouts or simply talk you up to the scouts and general managers.
